Technotsav 2023

The Department of Science at Christ College Pune organized an intercollegiate fest “Technotsav’23” on March 10th 2023, with tagline “Innovate-Connect-Inspire”. The fest was designed to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, learn new skills, and network with other like-minded individuals. The event began with registration at 8.30 am, followed by an inaugural function at 9.30 am. The function was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including industry experts, faculty members, and students. 

The fest featured five major events named Bugzilla, Link it Smart, Mind Over Maths, Code Hunt and Nritya Anuvad. One of the major highlights of the fest was the food stalls in Football ground called as Emporium’23 in collaboration with Department of Commerce, Christ College Pune. The stalls made a lot of attention and was a testament to the creativity and marketing skills of the students.

Event wise Report

  • Bugzilla- The event was organized in Computer Lab II. It consists of three rounds, with each group having three members. The event aimed at challenging participant’s error detection and problem solving skills. In round 1 (Pika-Choose), MCQ’s will be provided and participants should select the correct options displayed for scoring points. In round 2 (Bug-Lander), a pre-written bug free code will be given to each team. A member of team has to insert bugs in bug free code and then another team will try to remove the bugs and vice-versa. In round 3 (Debugging Round), each team will receive a zip file consisting of 50 codes from which will have to carefully figure out which code has a bug in it and show that to coordinators. The teacher in-charge was Ms. Asha Nagoriya and students’ in-charge were Kenrick, Akash, Satyam, Joel, and Naseerudin. Karan Punjabi and team from Christ University Lavasa became the winners for this event. 

 

  • Link it Smart- The event was organized in third floor (lecture hall no. 30). It consists of three rounds with each group having 2-3 participants. The event aimed at helping student life from all fields understand how IOT is used in our lives and how it has changed the way we handle our day to day interactions with technology. In round 1 (NFT), participants will get a riddle to solve and the answer will be the product or image that they have to make their own. In round 2 (Worldly fever), the participants will have to guess the IOT device based on the clues provided through games. In round 3 (Promotional short video), students have to make a short video to advertise the device they proposed in the previous round. The teacher in-charge was Ms. Pooja S. Kedhkar and students’ in-charge were Elijah, Aditya, Noah, Kunal, Rovin, Wilson, and Keslar. Ishan Veenit and team from PCCCS became the winners for this event.

 

  • Mind Over Maths- The event was organized in third floor (lecture hall no. 29). It consist of three rounds, with each group having 2-3 members. The event aimed at testing your mathematical skills. In round 1 (Puzzle round), evaluates the memory skills and the problem-solving abilities of the participants. In round 2 (Math it Smart), evaluates the knowledge, focus and the time management skills of the participants. In round 3 (Mysterious Game Round), evaluates the critical thinking and the planning ability of the participants.  The teacher in-charge was Dr. Sr. Priya Rapheal and Ms. Eteena Philip, and students’ in-charge were Aryan, Nikita, and Jagdish. Mamta Pardeshi and team from Sarhad College of ACS, Katraj became the winners for this event.

 

  • Code Hunt- The event was organized in Christ College Campus (excluding classrooms). It consist of three rounds, with each group having 2-3 members. The event aimed to improve the understanding and reinforce skills, to accelerate your knowledge and to test the creativity, innovation in building and designing the code. In round 1 (CryptoCon), the participants should perform cracking, decoding and encoding of codes. In round 2 (Trace to Thrive), it is based on algorithmic coding skills. In round 3 (Code Quest), it involves logic building abilities and problem solving skills.  The teacher in-charge was Ms.Vandana Bais and students’ in-charge were Harshal, Manasi, Sakshat, Deepanshu, Simran, Joshua, Amisha, Madiha and Gautam. Sakshi Vijay Mahajan and team from College of Engineering, Pune became the winners for this event.

 

  •  Nritya Anuvad- The event was organized in Christ College Auditorium (Chavara Hall). Each group consist of maximum 8 members. The event aimed to discover your dancing skills. The dance form allowed was free style.  The teacher in-charge was Ms. Eteena Philip and students’ in-charge were Micah Salve and Simran Dalvi. Sujal Barge and team from Vidya Prastishtan Arts, Science and Commerce College, became the winners for this event.
